Thanks, Dan Holloway — we’ve heard some reports of the carnations going back as far as the 60s but we found it difficult to pinpoint when it really passed the threshold to become a University-wide tradition.

We would really love to hear any stories about the history of it, particularly any pre-90s photographs showing carnation-wearing!
